Child Protection Unit
Baraka Health Centre operates a dedicated Child Protection Unit (CPU) committed to safeguarding the rights, safety, and well-being of children. The Unit provides a safe, confidential, and child-friendly environment for the prevention, identification, and response to child abuse, neglect, and exploitation, while promoting holistic child welfare.
Child Protection and Support Services
The Child Protection Unit delivers integrated medical, psychosocial, and referral services for children at risk or affected by abuse and violence, in collaboration with families, community structures, and relevant authorities.
Key services include:
Identification and assessment of child abuse and neglect
Medical examination and treatment for abused children
Psychosocial support and counselling for children and caregivers
Case management and follow-up services
Referral and linkage to legal, social, and protection services
Support for survivors of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV)
Child safeguarding education and awareness
Coordination with community-based child protection networks
