Baraka Health Net is a locally led health network committed to expanding access to quality, affordable healthcare for marginalized and underserved communities across Kenya. Rooted in more than two decades of service delivery, the organization continues to build on a strong legacy of compassionate care, community engagement and health system strengthening.
Our story began in 1997, when German Doctors Nairobi established Baraka Health Center in Mathare Valley, one of Nairobi’s largest informal settlements. The facility was created to address the urgent healthcare needs of communities facing limited access to essential medical services. Over the years, Baraka Health Centre became a trusted provider of primary healthcare delivering lifesaving services to thousands of patients each year.
In 2024, the management and strategic oversight transitioned to Baraka Health Net, transforming the initiative into a growing Kenyan-led network dedicated to strengthening local health systems.
