- Diagnosis & Financial Struggle: Diagnosed with Type II diabetes in 2015 at a government hospital in Nairobi, the patient struggled with high costs for drugs and laboratory tests, leading to an inability to continue medication and a worsening condition.
- Turning Point: A friend directed him to German Doctors in 2017, where he received affordable medication, ongoing support, and reminders for his appointments.

- Hardships: When medications ran out, financial constraints led to skipping doses, resulting in severe leg swelling and extreme fatigue.
- Comprehensive Care at Baraka Health Centre: Seeking help at German Doctors (Baraka Health Centre in Mathare), further diagnostic tests at Upper Hill revealed underlying heart complications requiring long-term treatment.
- Life Transformation: Provided with affordable medication (Ksh 500) and nutritional counselling, his chest pains stopped within two months. He can now perform daily tasks like walking long distances and climbing staircases.
3. Angeline Nthambi’s Story

- Second Generation Success: Though her son initially tested positive due to late ARV intervention, German Doctors supported them continuously and sponsored her son—now 24—for a mechanic course that provides his main income.

4. Jude & Favor’s Sickle Cell Journey

- The Challenge: Favor suffered her first sickle cell crisis at age 3 and a stroke at age 5 in 2018, which left her left side paralyzed and unable to walk.
- Intervention at Baraka Health Centre: Following a one-month hospital admission, Favor was referred to Baraka Health Centre, joining a specialized sickle cell support group.
- Recovery & Triumph: Through affordable medical care and dedicated physiotherapy, Favor regained her ability to walk independently and handle chores without assistance.
